Very good sandwich and salad choices at lunch. We tried a burger and a big chicken salad. The burger and fries were the standout here. Very good. The salad was also nice. This is a very old brick building with some real history to it. They have managed to update the place just right, without losing the old time feel of the place. A good selection of TVs with football. I bet this place is super busy when important games are on.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews for this place but my girlfriend and I were hugely disappointed. The experience started with the TERRIBLE customer service. Walking in we seated ourselves at one of the three open tables, all of which had not been cleaned or prepared for the next wave of customers. After sitting for around 5 minutes with crumbs and half empty water glasses in front of us a waiter came by and wiped it down and said someone would be with us in a moment. It was probably 10 minutes later that a waitress came by to give us menus and she didn't return with water for another 20 minutes at least. For those keeping track, we had been sitting at a table for almost 40 minutes without having our order taken or even someone checking in. Once we finally ordered the food took about another 20 to 25 minutes to come to the table. Yes, on Thursday night, while there were probably 3 other empty tables in the dinning room it took almost an hour to get a burger and fries. My guess is they are extremely under staffed, we only saw 2 wait staff the whole meal. The food: we both ordered the Point Burger with garlic fries. The fries were awesome! The burger was pretty bland though. The bun used for the burgers was terrible, flat, tasteless and disentgrated half way through eating it. The meat itself is nothing special, about the thickness of a Wendy's burger but a lot more juicy. It was almost like they try to compensate for quality with size since the burgers are huge! Overall we agreed that it would be fine bar food since its a pub as well but if you're a restaurant too the quality should be a lot better. I would probably dine again if it wasn't for the terrible, service.

I really liked this place. We ate here for lunch today and everything was great. Nice atmosphere - 100 year old building with really tall ceilings, exposed brick walls and an awesome long bar. They have about 5-6 big screen tv's, so obviously a great place to watch a game. They also have a cozy seating area with a couple of nice leather sofas, in addition to the many tables. I got a cheeseburger and the BF got the Southwest Chicken Salad and both were very good. The meat in my burger was high grade and cooked perfectly. And my side order of fries were A M A Z I N G! I got a choice of plain fries, parmesan or blue cheese. I got the blue cheese, and they were perfect. Lightly sprinkled with a blue cheese salt and they also came with a blue cheese dressing for dipping. So freaking good. Service was also really good. It looked like there were only two people working and there were only a few people at tables when we arrived, but it got busy at the end of our meal, so we were pretty lucky with the quick service we had. Overall a great experience and I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for lunch in Central Point.

Just moved to the area and wanted to try something close by. Nice building with great outdoor seating. Love the open brick walls inside. I only had a couple drinks at the bar, so my review is on that experience alone. I Ordered the Lavender Blossom Martini which was yummy and better than expected. Service was attentive and super friendly. Will definitely be back to try some food, and maybe check out some live music. :)

This place is lovely and beautiful. The service is good. The food is good not great, but good. We had a Caesar salad 3 stars. Too much dressing and no anchovies in the dressing or not enough that you could taste any. Garlic fries 5 stars yum! Chicken tenders 5 stars. Dirty shrimp with garlic bread 3 1/2 stars. The sauce was great, shrimp good, but there was no garlic bread. It was served with hard small croutons which was weird. My dining companion loved the calamari and I thought it was 3 1/2 stars. Some pieces were not cook well and then others cooked perfect. We went there for happy hour and their happy hour prices are high, but portions are generous. We had a great time and would go again. Consistency could improve, but the food is good.

What's the point of trying to eat here? Party of 4, we walked in for lunch at 1pm. A large group (6-8) just finishing and one other table of four eating their meal. No one greeted us. The one young waiter ignored us and tried not to make eye contact. After 10 minutes we went and got out own menus. After 10 more minutes of being ignored, we left. No one ever tried to make contact with us. Like I said earlier, what's the point!

Chicken quesadilla was excellent. Love the tomatillo salsa. Good kids menu, the serving staff were super nice. We were there during the lunch hour, and the kitchen staff might've been a little busy so our food was delayed. The venue is awesome. Old rustic brick inside.. Beautiful interior design good food great service overall.

We stopped in on a Wednesday night... there were approximately 3 other patrons... the entire restaurant was empty, so we sat at the bar and ordered a pitcher, Coconut Shrimp and Fried Cheese. The service was fairly neglectful and while semi friendly, we felt rushed and almost as if they wanted to move us along so that they could close up shop. It was only 830pm and there was one couple who was waiting for their main meal. when we finally got our quick snack, it was cold, the shrimp were still raw, and the fried cheese had absolutely zero flavor. I was slightly dumbfounded. When attempting to make small talk with the bartender about when they were usually busy, she answered, but seemed very put off to engage any further... we were asking because we would like to come back and possibly try their actual restaurant menu. For a pub in Oregon, their beer and wine selection is very minimal... and lacking some very good flavors. We actually ended up leaving and driving to Sharis to eat. Rather disappointed for a first time experience. As of this experience, I would never recommend them... for any reason, other than to look inside and see how beautiful the place is, and how much potential it could have. Hopefully a real dinner service will change our minds. If we ever go back.

Nice selection and good service. Ordered the BLT and shared it. I didn't care for melted cheese, but it was otherwise good. Ordered the blue cheese fries, and while they were cooked perfectly I couldn't taste any blue cheese.

The Hubs wanted fish and chips so we tried it again. His review is that they were okay, a little greaser than normal, but the coleslaw was better than last time. My salad was okay, the chicken was a little too dry, nothing awful but nothing great. Their garlic bread on the other hand is not very tasty at all. It's very bland, thin cut with a fake buttery taste and some overcooked cheese on top. I forgot that we had ordered it once before and didn't care for it, so when it got to our table (it was forgotten) I sighed with disappointment that I had ordered it again.... The only other thing that I will say is, like in an earlier post about the Philly Steak, when our daughter ordered the French Dip the meat was horribly tough and chewy. The staff was friendly and the space was nice, we sat on the patio and enjoyed the music and good weather.

Just had an event at The Point and I can't say enough FABULOUS things! First of all, "That 70's Show" is one of my all time favorite shows and I love that this place is called The Point (like in the show!) I am from Portland and my sisters and I hosted an anniversary party for my parents who live in Southern Oregon at The Point. The Point has an amazing event space upstairs. There is a room rental fee that's very fair and there's a banquet menu to customize your affair. We had a mix of adults and children and they were very accommodating with our kiddos. The room is beautiful with brick (just like the restaurant) and huge windows that overlook the town. It's above the restaurant and very private. You have your own bathrooms so you don't have to walk down to the restaurant to use the restroom. We had a bartender that made amazing drinks for a very reasonable fee. It was well worth it. Our group loved it! The Point even let us pick two signature drinks for the evening and we named them after our guests of honor. We chose a steak and the chicken marsala and they were both fabulous. The caesar salad was unreal...great dressing...all of our guests commented on how good the salad was. The service was great, we never wanted for anything! They had a small boombox that we were able to play music from our phones and a TV that we were able to run a slide show with. I was told that they have enough room for a small band or DJ if your event desires! I'm not sure of their occupancy rates for the room. We had approximately 30 people and had plenty of room. I have planned many corporate events in my days and this was by far one of my favorite places. I've had dinner here a few times and never had a bad meal. I love The Point!

Takes forever to get your food and even longer if you order a second glass of beer. Food was ok.

Visited with family - I had wine/salad/special salmon/cheesecake - I enjoyed myself. Service was very attentive, food was delicious. My sibling tried some of the cocktails and enjoyed them quite a bit! I tasted the coconut bread pudding and I thought that was huge and really good!

Great food but slow service. Went awhile after that opened for a 2nd visit thinking it was just new staff and trying to get into the swing again, everyone is friendly food is good / takes awhile to get although nobody is there, and so do the refills/check.

I highly recommend The Point's monthly wine dinners called Thursday Night Wine'd Down. If you get on their mailing list, you will get announcements describing the food menu, which winery will provide the wine, and how to reserve your spot. The value is excellent for delicious food, generous wine pairings, and entertaining mini-talks by winery representatives. The event is held in a large room above the restaurant with nice views. You will not be disapPOINTed!

    Service saved their stars! Sadly I cannot recall the server's name but he put on a show of excellence with prompt delivery, friendly menu suggestions, and genuine conversation. We had one small kitchen slip when a salad dressing was forgotten with the meal but - the server saved our experience with kindness/ speed to fix the issue. My lady needs gluten-free options and he catered the menu to that. I of course dove into the bread-heaven with a philly sandwich since I was craving a carnivorous night. Ate: Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich (belly approved) Menu $: high-mid; Drinks $: high but satisfying; Food Not very many options for gluten-free but again they can customize;

If you have children, this is the place for you. Their Kids Menu is one of the best I've ever seen. My nine year old daughter killed a huge bowl of homemade mac and cheese then went on to vacuum up a massive bowl of fries; eleven year old son put a hurting' on the kiddy cheeseburger and fries then downed the apple juice that was included. Both loved it so much they reminded me to Yelp it. We'll be back!

The Point Bar and Grill was an okay, the bar area clean quiet. The restaurant portion was comfortable, with average service. There was seven of us for dinner we all had different entrées and all felt that the meals were average at best. The price was about average for the dinner and drinks.

Stopped by here as I am in town for the holidays. I have to pleasantly disagree with CJ W's review as I had the Bleu cheese fries and thought that not only are they accented by tangy bleu, but not too much as the french fry still sings. Now, down to brass tacks... Decor is a little sparse as there is a ton of ceiling and wall space exposed in this gargantuan space and the echoes seem to well...er, um echo quite loudly. The tables and chairs are very nice though and the entire dining area I sat in (and used the , restroom) were clean and well maintained although the quippy little sign above the urinal was a bit rude and seemed to suggest that it would be MY fault if I didn't get served here on a busy weekend, a sad attempt at levity, a bit classless though. Noise Level: subdued compared to other places I've been in at 80% capacity on a Friday night down in California. I could hear the dishwasher stacking plates though throughout my entire stay. Service was lackluster, the only thing keeping me from giving them a 5. The young gal that waited on our party was clearly 4-6 months pregnant and she must have been having a hard time because she clearly did not know what the specials were without checking our menu. She insisted that the Miso Salmon was the best dish there and at her urging we had 2 out of 4 of us order that dish in lieu of either special that was marked up about $5-7 more (salad included, our guest's Miso salmon was about the same price after the ala carte salad purchased as our specials came with it inclusive). I ordered the ribeye special and that brings me to the next part... The FOOD!!! I've dined in all kinds of places down in the SF Bay Area, and probably over half of the restaurants in Ashland/Medford in the last 5 years. That being said, Amuse in Ashland is the only place to attempt to execute such a balanced, innovative approach to dining here in the valley. I've been to Bella Union in Jacksonville (not at all impressed with the food), and Larks in Medford on this trip and triumphantly for The Point, they beat them both hands down. My ribeye with blue cheese sauce WAS grilled to a perfect medium rare (yes they even let the steak rest before plating, a rarity for non-urban restaurants), and the sauce was just perfectly "Blue" enough to bring out the grassyness of the beyond tender Black Angus beef. The sauteed vegetables were fresh, hot, flavorful, and al dente (Thank God that they didn't overcook them the way most places do), and the only fall back was that the roasted garlic mashed potatos were luke warm and somewhat grainy, albeit seasoned perfectly. My partner had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was divine, freshly breaded (I know when it's premade and frozen for a week) and the dijon sauce was flawless. Again, lukewarm mashed potatos, but perfect veggies. We split the coconut bread pudding and it was the only item that I can honestly say wasn't executed to the same level as our dinner. Texture was brittle and lacked an eggy-creamy sensation that lingers with the ones I'm used to in San Francisco Adult Beverages were flawless as well. For the price and ingenuity they rival some "clubs/bars" I've been to in Vegas. It almost seemed like the service staff was playing catch up with the bartender and kitchen staff while we were there as they were busy, but not overly so. Had to wait about 15 minutes for our after dinner drinks, and food took between 15-20 minutes, but both were worth the wait. Beer selection was a tad light, I'm spoiled though. The GM (suit and tie, no name tag) was very friendly as he talked with a neighboring table, and smiled genuinely towards us also. I believe that the chef came by our table (red chef coat, large man) but he didn't announce himself as "the Chef," and he asked how our experience was. We chatted for 2-3 minutes and he was as genuinely appreciative of our time and critique, he apologized profusely for the mashed potatos not being perfect, we laughed and put him at ease but he truly looked hurt by that information. It is apparent that with a GM and a chef (?)/kitchen manager that are both on the floor during a busy time, and are both smiling and listening ( a rare quality with our younger generation) to their guests, interacting and enjoying themselves, that the real gem at The Point is not the food, or the service, or the decor, or the band playing... It is their heart. They care pure and simple, and now... so do we.

We were very excited to try The Point. Our food was great. I had the beer battered fish with a side of their home made macaroni and cheese. The Mac and cheese is the best I have ever had! My husband had the turkey panini and garlic fries. This too was very good. We both had great white to drink . They have a decent drink menu , but we both we disappointed that there wasn't a happy hour menu . Hopefully that will change.,Maybe a few other dinner choices too. Our service was fantastic. My only real complaint would be, I was freezing the entire time I was there. We asked the waitress to turn up the heat, but it was already on, we just couldn't tell. The people behind us were cold too so it wasn't just me . Over all very happy and will try it again.

I tried the free samples of Mac n cheese they were handing out at the 4th of July festival and could tell right immediately, it was made from scratch, so had to go have lunch there. I was not disappointed, for starters, the beer selection was great. We ended up trying some apps and by far the best jalapeño poppers I've ever had, they were scratch made and phenomenal. The wings were delicious and I had to get the full Mac n cheese entree with bacon and I still dream of it. The staff was friendly and attentive. My only issue is that they don't have The Point where I live, if they did, it would be a place I visit often.

I've been to The Point about four times since their opening. The service has been great, from servers and bartenders to owners. Atmosphere is also nice, restrooms were clean and stocked. FOOD: The first time, I tried Don's Chimichanga. HUGE! It was very good (and hot temperature wise), and I feel like it is fairly priced. The second time I got Freddy's Mac and Cheese. I am pretty sure it is the best mac and cheese I've ever had. I don't know what it is that gives it its bite, but I hope they never change the recipe or discontinue it. Plus, at $3 a side, it's pretty filling and a great deal. This is a great place to go for beers and mac and cheese. I've also tried the Southwest Chicken Salad. While everything in it was good and super fresh, the dressing was a little bland. I'll have to give it another try, perhaps that batch of dressing was under seasoned. My friend tried it as well, and she said it was missing the salt. I now regularly get their mac and cheese for takeout when I am in a hurry. If I'm going to spend $3 on something quick, I'd much rather get it somewhere local than get plastic food at some corporate-owned fast food joint. DRINKS: My new favorite drink is the Key Lime Twist. Unfortunately it is a little hit-or-miss, depending on the bartender. The owner was tending bar with the bartender the first time I tried it, and her version was amazing. The second time a girlfriend and I went, it tasted like a completely different drink (made by a different bartender). I think the difference was that she used vanilla vodka and perhaps he didn't? I normally despise anything vanilla flavored, but mixed with pineapple juice and lime, it is not too sweet and very refreshing. I had also ordered a margarita once, and it tasted pretty off. I don't like to send things back, but in hindsight I probably should have. It tasted like club soda, which is just wrong to me. I prefer my margaritas to have tequila, a splash of triple sec, lime juice and that is it. I am excited for their new brunch offerings, and hoping there will be a champagne brunch with mimosas. So far, so good!

Well well...I must say my single visit has already provided many mixed feelings, but first lets get to the point. Do you local folks know the significance? The bartender did not. Sure, she was pleasant. Though I do not appreciate the welcoming offer of hot chocolate topping only to receive it not only room temp, but cold to the touch. These bleu cheese fries tasted nothing of bleu cheese, yet they were delicious. The price is understandable perhaps due to the atmosphere, but not in present day CP. There was a much nicer bar in Medford that managed to get me way more drunk and filled up for over $20 cheaper. Jefferson spirits anyone? What. Is. The. Point?

My wife and I were really looking forward to trying the Point after having driven by it many times and reading great reviews on Urban Spoon. Our server was very attentive and friendly in the beginning of our meal but as time progressed basically abandoned us. We started with the Calamari appetizer which was very good, next the Cesar salad which tasted like it came out of a grocery store bag and was delivered along with our main course the Spanish Rib Eye Steak. Isn't the salad supposed to come before the main course not with your entre? Excuse me! The steak was also good but once we finished our meal our plates sat on the table for a solid half hour before another waitress asked if we were done and picked up some but not all of them. We were going to order another couple glasses of wine and desert but after sitting for another solid 20 minutes with the remaining plates sitting on our table, we finally managed to flag down our server asked for the check, paid the bill and left. From a service standpoint I would give the Point 1 star, food 3 stars so we will compromise with 2 stars and won't be back there are too many other really good places.

We gave The Point a while to settle in before giving it a try, but went in last night .... so disappointed - especially because we need a good 'go to' spot in Central Point. The starters were over priced but we decided to give it a shot anyway. It took quite a while before we got any service, and there was only one table full and one other guy at the bar. Beer was great, looked at the menu, and the bartender finally came back when our beer was empty so we could order our appetizer. Ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and dirty shrimp. They came out pretty quickly, but they were both cold. Flavors were good, but $21 for five poppers and five shrimp seems a little high for Central Point - ESPECIALLY when service and food temp are not stellar. I was hoping to see that building stay full for a while, but I don't see that happening if they don't make some changes. Bummer.

I went in tonight to see/hear live music (a fantastic band with an excellent young lady singing). The place has been cleaned up nicely since it's previous incarnation, and there are three large format TVs on the wall above the 30 foot long bar. Well dressed, very polite and attentive staff. Had a Cadillac Margarita that was excellent. Didn't try the food. The interior is nicely decorated and the atmosphere is relaxed, but the lighting is harsh. The two main rooms have tall brick walls and a wood floor, which makes even quiet conversation echo around the room. A live band with a full drum set sounds pretty awful. But for drinking and dancing it's acceptable. There is a beautiful patio in back.

So far this is the best burger we've had in southern Oregon. Last time we had the cheeseburger and this time the blue cheese burger. They substituted veggies for the fries. The fries are delicious but ... Service was excellent. Definitely recommend the burger.

Found this place searching for lunch spots in CP and decided to give it a go. I understand they are trying to go for a higher customer price point, but for whatever reason it just isn't transferred into the food. The salad I got was good, but I'd be surprised if their "house dressing" didn't come out of a bottle from Costco. Still a decent salad. The club I ordered was good, yet nothing set it apart from the bland $7 one you can get up the street at Shari's. They need to go over to Standing Stone to get an idea of a local twist on a classic. I feel for the money spent, there was zero "wow" factor in the meal. My suggestion is to go out on a limb when it comes to a few of the "classics"

The atmosphere is good here. We don't eat in central point too much, but stopped in because we has tried the Mac 'n Cheese sample at the cheese festival. There were a few mistakes when our food came out... they were handled well by the server, so it wasn't too big of a deal. I think the food is good over all... but I would ask they to PLEASE add better chicken to their pasta!! It was rubbery.

My family and I finally tried out the point. We were very excited and hoping for the best. I gave them two stars because the atmosphere is good and the servers were very attentive. We started out with the wings which struck me with a very similar taste and feel to the ones you can get in the big plastic bag in the freezer section. For dinner my wife and I tried the burgers. They were pretty bad. The buns were completely soggy and the meat had no seasoning whatsoever. We tried to come up with a description of the meat and the best we could come to is meat biscuit. It was tough. Needless to say we were extremely dissapointed. Would not recommend. Check out jaspers or Jacksonville Inn, goccis, back porch bbq.

I had been eager to try The Point as I drive by it constantly and last night was the night. We were shocked that for the price they were asking for the entrees, there were no salads or bread or anything really as a first course. That was very disappointing and a little....cheap. If you are going to be asking $13.50 for chicken that is a leg and a thigh, you really ought to serve a salad that justifies that price point. When the food came, it was plated very nicely and although my husband LOVED the chimichanga, he found the rice and beans it was served with average. I had the Jerk Chicken and it was really awful. I didn't know it was possible to grossly overcook a leg and a thigh, but they managed it. Dry. Dry. Not Juicy. Dry. The mac and cheese and brocolli I had with the chicken saved my evening, but the chicken tanked big time. The only thing that really redeemed the meal was the service. Excellent servers who were very attentive We were really digging the atmosphere UNTIL live music started playing and that was what really pushed us into the "dislike" arena. I honestly believe 8pm is a little early to start up a band....there were still families with little kids in the dining area. The music was so loud that even though we weren't in the bar, we could still barely hear each other. Not to mention the music was....well, meh. We decided we might give it another go for a lunch as their dinner menu was A) Limited and B) Spendy. But who knows, I have spent a lot less and had a far better experience. .

If I were reviewing the food alone, The Point would get 5 stars. Unfortunately the service dragged them down. We came for lunch and it was pretty quiet - 1 server but only 3 tables were filled. The food took a LONG time to come and when it did, it had the peppers that we specifically asked to be left off (due to allergies). Once the server realized he forgot to tell the kitchen, we got a half-hearted apology and offer to bring a new one. Since we had already been there for 45 minutes at this point, we declined. The real kicker was when the check arrived - no itemized bill, only the credit card total. Seemed like he knew they should have comp'd the sandwich and thought we wouldn't notice if we didn't see the itemized check. Will probably give them one more chance, but if the service isn't substantially better, that will be it. It's too bad. This place has the potential to be a great part of the Central Point landscape.

Went in the other day craving a burger, I was the only one in the whole place and stood at the bar waiting for anyone to notice I was there, after about 5 full minutes I left. The wait staff was busy joking around with each other in the other room and the cook caught eyes with me twice but no one ever came up to help me, they get 2 stars just because I know their burgers are good and they have a great beer selection, wish I could've ordered both.
